A MOTORIST died after his sports car left the road and hit a tree near Beccles, an inquest has heard.
David Brady, of Pakefield, Lowestoft, was driving his grey Maserati along the A12 towards Lowestoft on January 23 when his car veered into the path of an on-coming Range Rover.
The Range Rover, which was travelling towards Ipswich, collided with the rear near-side of the Maserati, causing it to spin off the road, where it then collided with a tree beside the road at Henham, near Beccles.
The inquest in Lowestoft today heard that Mr Brady, 53, of Saffron Square, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Suffolk coroner Peter Dean said that statements from witnesses said that the grey car was thought to be travelling at about 40 or 50 mph along the stretch of road.
One witness said that the driver seemed to be fighting for control as the rear of the car veered to the left, causing it to cross into the path of the on-coming car.

Dr Dean said: 'It appears that the driver of the Range Rover would have had insufficient time to react to the actions of the Maserati.
'Clearly something happened for some reason in that very short time leading to the loss of control of the Maserati, the intrusion into the opposite lane and the impact with the Range Rover and sadly the very tragic outcome which we have heard.'
Dr Dean recorded a verdict of accidental death.
