The birthdays of John Player, Syd Ashton, Trevor Ellis, Alan Coleman, Jim Moxom, Richard Mann and Geoff Goddard were recorded and applauded. Doug Ewells, the nature reporter, gave the latest news of moths and butterflies and swarming bees. The minutes secretary, Ken Renshaw, read the minutes of the last club meeting on May 5 which were agreed with no matters arising. Wally Parnell, the secretary and club magazine editor requested more items for inclusion in the next edition. Ken, ex-social secretary, reported on the next concert of the Lowestoft Keyboard Club on Tuesday, June 12 at the Beaconsfield Club and added that first time attendees would receive free admission. There is a talk on Monday, June 1, 10am at Oulton Broad library on the life and times of George Borrow. The group were reminded of the committee meeting on Tuesday, May 26 to finalise arrangements for the annual garden party in August. After the break, Terry Hepworth presented his history of sound recording part two; a vote of thanks was given by Ken Renshaw. The next club meeting is on June 2 with speaker Gilbert S Clarke on a Yorkshire holiday.
