The society's annual meeting was held on July 5. A year of progress and growth under conductor Martin Sussams was reported; over 20 players were often at the weekly Tuesday evening meetings. The orchestra had played at three public events - a music workshop when it accompanied singers in Vivaldi's Gloria and soloists in Bach's Magnificat; it had also accompanied the civic carol service and had held a concert of English music on St George's Day. The officers were re-elected with the addition of Frankie Ayers as music librarian. Finances showed a small profit so the weekly subscription was kept at 2 for adults and 1 for students. Newcomers are always welcome and can call 01502 567416 to find out more.
