Lowestoft Players

FOR many years as I can remember I have taken my family to see the Lowestoft Players perform their annual Christmas show at the town's Marina Theatre.

Amateurs they may be but professionals they are in heart, spirit and the never ending ability to bring joy and cheer to the young and old alike.

Who really wants to see a professional show over Christmas with actors who are no longer in the public eye, ex-soap stars for example, looking for some recognition again.

The Players have kept us happy and entertained for many years. It is right to see young local talent given the opportunity to take part in a local show - that's what it is all about. We recognise them and personally I want to go on seeing and taking my family to the Players' pantomime.

I for one will never pay to see a professional one.
