At their latest meeting members were entertained by local guitarist, singer and songwriter Jo Knight who in words and song told the story of her interesting and varied musical career. Her passion for music was fostered during her earliest schooldays at Corton Primary and as a teenager by her membership of Waveney Folk Club. A change of direction saw Jo become lead singer in a touring rock band before her enthusiasm turned to classical singing. After qualifying at Keswick Hall and a London music college she became a music teacher and currently works at a local school. Jo also actively supports a children's cancer charity based at Addenbrokes Hospital. She was warmly thanked by Betty Smith. Raffle winners were Olive Bass and Betty Smith. Members were reminded that the summer coffee morning takes place on Tuesday, June 9, at 66 Gorleston Road. Raffle prizes for the occasion will be welcomed. Final bookings for the Mill House afternoon tea will be taken at the next club meeting on June 16, when the guest speaker John Holmes will talk on Fishing Through The Years.
