A Christmas card designed by a Lowestoft pupil is due to be sent to Prince Harry and his new fiancée Meghan Markle along with the prime minister.

More than 25 pupils at Red Oak Primary School took part in a competition to design a Christmas card for Waveney MP Peter Aldous, with the winning card being sent on behalf of the school to the newly engaged couple and to Theresa May at 10 Downing Street.

Mr Aldous was given the difficult task of choosing the winner and two runners up, with certificates presented to all pupils who took part.

The winning design came from Rozita Usefe, complete with a Christmas tree, snowman and presents. The runners up were Marcy Ward and Jessica Paul.

Mr Aldous said: 'The standard was exceptional this year and it was difficult to choose but Rozita's card stood out as did those of the runners up.'
