Lowestoft road victim named

A MAN who was killed in a road crash on Friday has been named as 22-year-old Craig Hewitt, from Carlton Colville.

He was driving a gold Peugeot 306 on Corton Road, in Lowestoft, when it hit a bollard, left the road and collided with a post just before 2pm.

He was driving a gold Peugeot 306 on Corton Road, in Lowestoft, when it hit a bollard, left the road and collided with a post just before 2pm. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two 19-year-old female passengers, both from Lowestoft, were also in the vehicle and were taken to the James Paget University Hospital, in Gorleston, and treated for minor injuries but later discharged.

Police are appealing for anyone who saw the collision, or the car before the collision or who may have any information to contact PC Paul Smith at the Serious Collision Investigation Team on 01473 613500.
