A man has been arrested and released under investigation following a flat fire which led to one person being taken to hospital.
Emergency services were called at around 10am on Saturday, April 13, to reports of a blaze at a property on Salisbury Road in Lowestoft.
Three fire crews - one from Lowestoft North and two from Lowestoft South - responded, along with an ambulance, a rapid response vehicle and several police cars.
The road was blocked off by police as the fire service dealt with a small fire at a ground floor studio flat that was preventing two people from exiting.
One person was taken to James Paget University Hospital in Gorleston to be treated for smoke inhalation.
Following initial enquiries, a arson investigation was launched and a man in his 40s was arrested on suspicion of arson.
He has since been released under investigation pending further enquiries.
