PEOPLE in Lowestoft, who are on a water meter, could be saving money on your bill by checking that you are on the right tariff.

For those who can show that they use less water than average, there is a special Anglian Water tariff called SoLow. And for those who receive benefits, a pension or who have a special medical condition, Anglian Water has AquaCare and AquaCare Plus to help out.

Did you also know that if all the rainwater from your roof and driveway goes direct into garden soakaways and into a watercourse, not via an Anglian Water sewer, you could save money. Anglian Water will give you a reduction to your sewerage standing charge.

And if you haven't already changed to a water meter, then the advice from Anglian Water is try it. Media Manager Collette Nicholls said: “By simply switching to a water meter, the average household could save about £100 a year - and if they don't like it or don't see any benefit they can switch back within two years.

“Using a water meter helps us all to use less water, which means our resources go further. Not only that, it could save on leaks as a meter will indicate whether an abnormal amount of water is being used or lost.”
