Champion powerboat racer Thomas Mantripp finished his season last weekend by adding the RYA Powerboat GP title to what has already been a successful year.
Thomas, who attends Pakefield High School, has travelled around the world racing this year and even managed to finish in second place in the UIM World Championships held in Finland back in July.
He also took on the best in Europe at the end of August and achieved his best ever result in the European Championships with a bronze medal at the national water sports centre in Nottingham.
Thomas said: “I could not have achieved it all without the support of my parents and my local sponsors who back me all the way.
“I have been so successful this year and would like to thank everyone involved.”
The team are not finished yet though, as preparations are already in place for an attempt at the World speed record for the GT-15 class at the annual Coniston speed records week in November.
Thomas’s father Peter Mantripp added: “We are very confident the record will be broken by Thomas and we hope the weather will be kind as it can get very windy in November.
“To achieve this is a personal dream of mine and it would make me so proud if we succeed.”
