Christine White, Barbara Badger and Geoff Smith were winners in both rounds of games last week. Geoff shared in the closest game of the evening, a 421-419 match with June Christie, while Colin Clarke recorded the highest word-score of 86 for “alerting”. A good crop of bonus words included “vestings”, “rootled”, “asteria”, and “pouncers”. The list of challenge survivors produced several surprises, among them “rorty”, “gauped”, “scry”, “frit” and “wazir”. Phone Geoff (511223) for details of the club.
