Lowestoft Town manager Dale Brooks now has one less option up front after on-loan striker Matty Foy returned to Cambridge United.

The 19-year-old frontman, who has yet to break into the first team at the Abbey Stadium, joined the Blues in November after similar spells with Cambridge City and St Neots Town.

The deal was initially for one month but it eventually ended up being a three month stay at the Amber Dew Events Stadium.

Foy played 15 games for Lowestoft during his loan, scoring two goals, and made what proved to be his final appearance in Tuesday's 5-0 defeat at Bostik League Premier Division leaders Billericay Town.

Brooks paid tribute to the young striker's contribition, telling the club's official website: 'I would like to thank Matty for the commitment he has showed during his time at the club. I would also like to wish him all the best with his future career.'
