Members met at the United Reformed Church hall for their monthly meeting which was opened by president Jean Pinkney. Apologies were given from members unable to attend. Birthday buttonholes were handed out to members who have birthdays during April. The minutes of the March meeting were read out. The speaker was Anita Lambert who gave a demonstration of flower arranging. Anita made four arrangements plus one vase of flowers. One of the arrangements went to Linda Painter who has just come out of hospital and the others were given as raffle prizes. A vote of thanks was given by Valerie Bradfield, after which it was tea and talk time which was special as everyone had hot cross buns provided by Malcolm, the president's husband. The exhibit table was 'A flower picture'. First was Pauline Starr, second June Jones and third Barbara Floyd, after which the two raffles were drawn. The next meeting will be on May 13, at 2pm in the United Reformed Church hall.
