TWO major stars from the world of entertainment will be in Lowestoft today (Friday) as the Marina Theatre launches its Christmas pantomime, Cinderella.

Anne Charleston, best known for her roles as Madge Bishop, in Neighbours, and more recently Lilly Butterfield, in Emmerdale, will be joined by children's television presenter Dave Benson Phillips for the event at lunchtime.

People can get a glimpse of proceedings as their characters of Fairy Godmother and Buttons are joined by Cinderella, to be played by Beth Angharad, for a ride on a horse drawn vintage carriage.

This year's pantomime will run from December 10 through to January 3 and follows on from the success of last year's Peter Pan, the town's first professional pantomime in half a century.

Produced by the team behind Disney's Beauty and The Beast, this year's production will include performances throughout the Christmas and New Year holiday, a special signed performance, and a number of shows specifically for school parties.

Tickets for Cinderella, which are priced from 5, are now available from the Marina box office on 01502 533200.
