DETECTIVES investigating after a fraud offence where thousands of pounds were withdrawn from a bank account in Beccles have arrested a 58-year-old man in connection with the enquiry.

Suffolk police released CCTV images of a man in a bank at Waltham Cross in Hertfordshire and a passport-style image of another man they wanted to speak to in connection with the investigation in September.

As a result of this and other distributions, a police community support officer from Ilford contacted Suffolk officers with information.

Further enquiries led to the 58-year-old man from Ilford being arrested last Friday, November 21.

He has now been bailed to return to Lowestoft police station on January 16, pending further investigation.
