A 38-YEAR-OLD man has been arrested after police raided an address in Normanston Drive this morning (Thursday, June 3) and discovered cannabis plants being grown in the loft of the property.
The Waveney Territorial Support Team carried out the warrant about 7.25am and found the plants and growing equipment.
The 38-year-old man was subsequently arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the production of the drug and is currently in custody at Lowestoft police station where he will be interviewed by officers.
The warrant was part of ongoing work by Suffolk Police to target those suspected of involvement in the cultivation and supply of illegal drugs.
The find comes after a 35-year-old man was recently sentenced to 16 months imprisonment after officers discovered around 300 plants in a property at Ellough Road in Ellough in May 2009.
A police officer on patrol noticed something unusual, went to investigate and discovered what he thought was cannabis. A full warrant was obtained and a search carried out, leading to hundreds of plants and growing equipment being found.
