A 23-year-old man has been charged following a knifepoint robbery at a convenience shop.
Police were called at just before 10pm on Wednesday, March 21, to reports of a man with a knife threatening staff at SK News on Oxford Road in Lowestoft.
Officers were immediately despatched and reached the scene in less than 5 minutes. A shop worker and members of the public intervened and restrained the man, who was then arrested by police on suspicion of robbery. Nobody was injured as a result of the incident.
The man was subsequently taken to Great Yarmouth Police Investigation Centre, where he was interviewed by detectives.
Jack Burrows of Stoven Close, Lowestoft, has been charged with robbery and possession of a bladed weapon in a public place.
Burrows is due to appear before Norwich Magistrates today.
