Man charged with robbery

A 34-year-old man has been charged with two counts of robbery following incidents in Lowestoft earlier this week.Courtney Absalom, of no fixed abode, has been charged with a robbery at Joes Newsagents at Pier Terrace on Sunday and the robbery of a 73-year-old woman at the Britten Centre car park on Monday.

A 34-year-old man has been charged with two counts of robbery following incidents in Lowestoft earlier this week.

Courtney Absalom, of no fixed abode, has been charged with a robbery at Joes Newsagents at Pier Terrace on Sunday and the robbery of a 73-year-old woman at the Britten Centre car park on Monday.

He has also been charged with possession of a large carving knife in a public place.

He will be held in custody at Lowestoft overnight and is due to appear before magistrates in the town tomorrow morning.
