A 39-YEAR-OLD man has been charged with robbery after a pensioner was attacked near Lowestoft seafront.
An 82-year-old man was using a telephone kiosk at Marine Parade, near Victoria Terrace, about 9.35pm on Friday, November 2. As he finished his call and left he was attacked and robbed of several items. He was taken to hospital with facial injuries including swelling and cuts.
A 38-year-old man was arrested a short time later and he was originally bailed to return to police on December 11. However police re-arrested the man – who is now 39 - earlier today (Monday).
A police spokesman said: 'Jay Jenkins, of London Road South, has now been charged with the robbery. He is being detained in custody overnight to appear at Lowestoft Magistrates Court tomorrow morning, Tuesday, November 13.'
