Man charged with two robberies

A MAN appeared in court yesterday charged with two counts of robbery in Lowestoft.

Courtney Absalom, 34, of no fixed address, has been charged with a robbery at Joe's Newsagents at Pier Terrace last Sunday and of a 73-year-old woman at the Britten Centre car park last Monday. He has also been charged with being in possession of a 12-inch kitchen knife in a public place.

Absalom appeared at Lowestoft Magistrates' Court yesterday and was remanded in custody until his next appearance, before Ipswich Crown Court, on July 8.
