Man critically injured after assault

Police have cordoned off an area on London Road South, Lowestoft, following a serious assault which took place at around 10.25 pm last night.

Officers were called following reports that a male had been assaulted in the alleyway near to the Royal Court Hotel, by at least at two males.

Officers were called following reports that a male had been assaulted in the alleyway near to the Royal Court Hotel, by at least at two males.

The male, who is in his 50s, was taken to James Paget Hospital where he remains in a critical condition after sustaining serious head injuries.

An investigation is underway, but is in its early stages. Officers are appealing for witnesses to contact police immediately, particularly anyone who was in the area at the time of this incident.
