A 20-year-old man suffered a suspected broken nose and swelling to his lip after he was assaulted by another man in Southwold High Street.

The 20-year-old had been outside the Kings Head pub with a friend around 11pm on Saturday (January 29) when he saw three men by the benches there. Moments later he was punched by one of the men – described as having ginger hair and being white, around 6ft tall, of stocky build and aged in his mid 20s.

The attacker appeared to be with two other men – one described as white, around 6ft tall, of stocky build and with brown hair, the other also white, but shorter and wearing a baseball cap.

Police would like to hear from anyone who was in the area around this time who saw the incident or anyone with information about who the offender is. If you can help please call PC 1695 Pritchard on 01986 835300.
