A MAN who was 'seriously injured' following a crash in Lowestoft this morning has been taken to hospital for treatment.

An unnamed motorcyclist has been taken to the James Paget University Hospital in Gorleston with 'potentially life threatening' injuries according to a police spokesman.

Diversions are still in place following the two-vehicle collision on Rotterdam Road at about 10.45am on Tuesday.

Traffic continues to be diverted, with Rotterdam Road closed at Normanston Drive, and motorists are being urged to avoid the area.

Police spokesman Anne-Marie Breach said: 'The man has been taken to James Paget by road ambulance rather than the air ambulance, which attended.'

The crash happened close to the Lake Lothing public house.
