Firefighters were called in the early hours of the morning to rescue a 38-year-old man who had become stuck in mud.
The incident occurred at the Jackson's construction site on Ellough Road in Worlingham around 12.30am.
A spokesman for Suffolk Fire and Rescue said: 'We received reports that a 38-year-old man was stuck in the mud with a serious medical condition.'
It is believed the trapped man was suffering from a ruptured spleen and hypothermia.
Fire crews from Beccles and Lowestoft South attended the scene and helped to free him from the mud.
A crew from the East of England Ambulance Service was also on scene and took the injured man to hospital once he was safely freed.
The fire service called time at the scene at 1.39am.
