POLICE have launched an appeal for witnesses and information after a 57-year-old man was verbally abused in Herringfleet.
Officers need to trace a white man, described as about 5ft 8ins tall, of stocky build, wearing glasses, with mousy brown short hair and wearing a black T-shirt and jeans after the incident at Herringfleet Hills car park off St Olaves Road about 8am to 8.30am yesterday (Wednesday, June 2).
The 57-year-old man was out walking with a friend and stopped to help a group of six or eight young people who had been camping in the area clear up some rubbish. He was then approached by the man, who appeared to be with the group, who became verbally abusive towards him.
Officers are asking the man or anyone with information about who he is to call Lowestoft police on 01986 835300.
