A man has been fined £500 for claiming more than £4,000 in benefits while working so he could pay his bills and mortgage.
Reginald Manchester, 59, of Kirkley Run, Lowestoft, appeared before town magistrates for sentence yesterday after admitting the offence at an earlier hearing. He was also ordered to pay £115 in costs.
Manchester started receiving incapacity benefit in July 2004. He started a job as a cleaner in November 2005, but continued to claim until July 2006.
