Drop-in sessions offer support and advice to mental health carers

A series of drop-in sessions will be available to people caring for those with mental health difficulties.
As part of Carers Week, staff from the Norfolk and Suffolk Foundation Trust will be at libraries across Waveney to offer information, support and advice.
Catherine Phillips, carers lead for Waveney Community Mental Health Team, said: “There are so many unpaid carers in society and it’s often difficult to reach out to them in rural areas like Waveney.
“Looking after someone with a mental health condition can be tough and isolating. Carers often put the needs of their loved ones above their own, so they tend to neglect their own wellbeing.
“We’re hoping these events will enable us to signpost carers to services that can help and support them.”
The sessions are as follows:
• Bungay Library: June 11, noon - 1.30pm
• Halesworth Library: June 11, 9.30am - noon
• Beccles Library: June 12, 9.30am – 11.30am
• Lowestoft Library: June 15, 9.30am – noon
• Kessingland Library: June 15, 12.30pm - 1.30pm
