This wonderful wildlife shot capturing a bittern as it enjoys a spot of lunch has been named as The Journal’s Picture of the Week.

The picture was taken by 62-year-old Rosemary Barnard from Oulton Broad, who used her Canon 100D to take the picture at RSPB Minsmere.

She said: “The bittern was once again giving a brilliant showing. A normally shy bird came out of the reeds, walked into the shallow water and with one swoop caught its first fish.”

As our winner, Ms Barnard receives a 10in x 8in framed version of his photo from Picture Studios, of London Road North, in Lowestoft town centre. Entries can be of any subject but they must be digital images.
