Most easterly point

GEOGRAPHY, as far the cardinal points of Great Britain is concerned, is not the strong point of some people, if what I read in The Journal is correct.

Lands End and John O'Groats may be the geographical extremities of our island; they are not the southerly and northerly points.

Lands End and John O'Groats may be the geographical extremities of our island; they are not the southerly and northerly points. These honours go to the Lizard and Dunnet Head respectively.

What of the most westerly point? This is not Lands End, or St David's Head, but Ardnamurchan Point, in Scotland.

Although the south, west and north points may not be universally known, Ness Point, at Lowestoft, is the most easterly point and as such should be feted and marked in a significant and meaningful way.
