‘Secure your sheds’ - Police warning after mountain bikes worth £800 stolen

People are being warned to check the security of their sheds and garages after thieves stole two mountain bikes worth roughly £800.

The two bicycles were stolen from a shed at a home on Park Road, Lowestoft yesterday, April 13.

A spokesman for Suffolk Police said the shed was broken into sometime between midnight and 6am.

“Entry was gained after a lock was forced off, once inside an orange and grey VooDoo Bantu bicycle and a light grey and blue Carrera Vengeance bicycle were stolen,” the spokesman said.

The VooDoo bicycle was worth approximately £500 new, while the Carrera costs around £300.

Officers are now “urging residents to review the security of their sheds, garages as outbuildings” as the break in follows a spat of similar burglaries in the county over recent weeks.
