MPs should get hotel allowances

WE pay for second homes for MPs all the year round yet Parliament is in recess in the summer, at Christmas, Easter and Whitsun.

It would be fairer if MPs received an allowance for reasonable hotel accommodation when they actually attend Parliament.

How often is that?

We hear many debates in the house are poorly attended.

There are of course committee meetings etc, but we should know how much work in Westminster has been put in by our MPs, as well as their claims for allowances and expenses.

If MPs wish to buy a second home in London they could use hotel allowances towards the cost.
