THE funeral has taken place at St Edmunds Church Southwold followed by burial at Southwold Cemetery, Reydon for Derek Doy (Dutta). Dutta died peacefully at home on October 29 aged 77 with his loving family around him.

THE funeral has taken place at St Edmunds Church Southwold followed by burial at Southwold Cemetery, Reydon for Derek Doy (Dutta). Dutta died peacefully at home on October 29 aged 77 with his loving family around him.

The service was officiated by the Rev Richard Henderson.

Immediate family mourners were wife Sue Doy, Gary and Jacky Doy, Derek and Teresa Baggott, Tommy and Gaynor Doy and Alan Doy, sons, daughter, and son in law and daughter in laws. Grandchildren Tonia and David, Gemma and Brett, Lucy and Gareth, Nicky and Mark, Sam and Ashley, Kevin, Tom, Taylor and Kelly and great grandson Riley. All his brothers and sisters and their respective families. There were around 800 people who attended the funeral, too many to name personally but we are so grateful to you all for attending from far and wide. We have been comforted by the 350 cards and letters we have received. Our thanks go to the RBL Band Leiston for the beautiful music, The 28 standard bearers from all over Suffolk and the marshal Dennis Bloomfield. The tributes from Rev. Charles Croll, John Huggins RNLI and coastguards, David Kemp RBL, Lucy Doy for reading the poem, Steven Wright who played the last post, The Choir , Joan Goldsmith and Fred Butter, churchwardens.

Grateful thanks go to Drs Castle, Stammers and Eastaugh and the staff at Southwold Surgery, Drs McQuinn and Dennedy and Macmillan nurse Penny from The James Paget Hospital. Fishers Funeral directors Robert and Christine and the Pall Bearers for their kindness and understanding and Rev Richard Henderson for his comforting words at the service.
