The funeral service took place at St Peter's Church, Carlton Colville, followed by interment in Carlton cemetery, on Thursday, July 22, for Mr Gordon William Steward of Carlton Colville, who died on July 11, aged 90 years.

Mourners were: Mr David Steward (son) and Mrs Joyce Steward (daughter-in-law, South Africa), Mrs Carol Steward (daughter), Mrs Molly Blowers (daughter) and Mr Dennis Blowers (son-in-law), Mrs Jean Green (sister) and Mr Tommy Green (brother-in-law), Mrs Ethel Wharton (sister), Mrs Barbara Smith (sister-in-law). Grandchildren: Mr Daren Steward (South Africa), Mr Gary Steward (South Africa), Mr Mark Smith and Mrs Shirley Drake, Mr Martin Smith, Miss Alison Smith, Mr Andrew Blowers and Mrs Tracy Blowers, Mr Jason Blowers and Mrs Debbie Blowers, Mrs Karen Goffin and Mr Dale Goffin. Great-grandchildren: Harrison Blowers, Hannah Blowers, Hollie Blowers, Rebecca Goffin, Lewis Smith, Jessie Smith, Ellie Venables, Christopher Venables, Daniel Venables. Nephews and nieces: Mr Barry Smith and Mrs Beverley Smith, Mr Mark Smith and Mrs Lydia Smith, Mr Christopher Smith, Mr Paul Smith, Mrs Sally Read, Mrs Deborah Ayers, Mrs Lyn Whittaker and Mr Barry Whittaker, Mr Richard Barratt and Mrs Patricia Barratt, Mrs Brenda Bolingbroke and Mr Trevor Bolingbroke (friends), Mr Tom Waters (special neighbour), Sam and Tash (Joan's carers from Lound Hall).
Many family, friends, neighbours and associations attended the service too numerous to mention and the family of Mr Gordon Steward wishes to thank them all.
