JAMES (Jim) Culham of Coastguard Cottages, Lowestoft, passed away at home after a long illness with his family present on Friday April 4, aged 87.

The Port Missionary Tim Jenkins conducted a celebration of Jim's life at Gorleston Crematorium on Friday April 18 attended by family, many friends and members of the Lowestoft Lifeboat both past and present some of whom formed a guard of honour at the crematorium.

Main mourners were: Sheila (wife); daughters and son-in-laws Susan and John, Carol and Adrian, Janie and Graham, Louise; grandchildren Leon, Victoria, Ian, Ali, Simon, Louisa, Paul, Anna, Leanne, Kacie, Larissa and James; great-grandchildren Harvey, Ashton and Roman; Peggy and Vincent (sister and brother-in-law), nieces and nephews Valerie, Janet, Ann and Rod, Martin, Claudia and John, Jimmy and Janette, Nigel and Joanne; cousins: Dennis and Peter.

Among close friends were: Tommy Knott, Bert Coleman, Peter and Dianne Gibbons, John and Val Catchpole, Dieter and Celia Thielemeyer, Dick and Dianne O'Halleron, David Barnard, Tony Attridge, Terry Arlow, Roger and Susan Thompson, Roger Trigg, Pedlar Palmer, Ralph Barnard, Richard Musgrove (Lowestoft Lifeboat Operations Manager), John Fox (coxswain), David Schonhut, Ben Arlow, Dr Helen Tabberer, Edna and Jeanne Stoddart, Joy White, Roy and Maureen Spindler, John and Karen Allsop, Joy Pritchard, Ivan and Doreen Larter, Michael Knott, Mark Gibbons, Lisa Berry, Ruby Twiggs, Paul Spink, Gilliam Gubb, Roy French, Mary and Jim Hardie, Denise Longthorne, Russell Brown, Bill Davidson, Malcolm Horton, Terry Crump, Ron Morrison, Ria Phillips, Rob Stephenson.

Unable to attend were: Keith and Sylvia Culham (brother and sister-in-law), Vera Lamb, Doreen Bessey, Mick Brown (Spain) and son-in-law Chris Williams (at sea).

The family wishes to thank all relatives and friends for their cards and kind expressions of sympathy. Special thanks to Anglia Carers for all their support and care, Dr Derks and all past and present doctors and nurses at Rosedale Surgery, Tim Jenkins for his uplifting service and Graham at Anglia Co-operative for his kindness and understanding.
