THE funeral service took place at Christ Church, Lowestoft, on Friday, April 9, followed by burial in Lowestoft Cemetery, of Jack (John Douglas Howard) Saunders, of Lowestoft, who died at James Paget Hospital on March 24, aged 93.

The Rev Matthew Payne officiated with readings, songs and reminiscences from Jack Saunders Jr, Stephen Mynott, Edward Mynott Jr, Ian Prettyman and Supt Tim Jenkins (RNMDSF).

Mourners were: Jack and Rosa Saunders (son), Lily and Bryan Balls (daughter), Margaret and Edward Mynott (daughter), Alan and Trish Saunders (son), David and Pat Saunders (son), Valerie Saunders (daughter-in-law), Darrin Saunders, Edward Mynott Jr, Claire Mynott, Stephen Mynott, Mark and Melanie Saunders, Lauren Saunders, Marianne Saunders, John Balls, Jackie and Paul Benterman, Glyn Bond, Kyle Bond, Rachel Barber, Alison and Steven Wylds, Jessie Wylds, Luke Wylds, Angie Springer, Maxine and Sean Flaxman, Erin Flaxman, Joanne Jenner, Kathryn Holland, Thai Holland, Ania Holland, Lyta Adams, Charles Barker, Kevin Barnard, Jane Bolton, Harry Burgess, Richard and Pat Calderwood, Pamela Carter, David Coleman, Angie Donnelly, John C Francis, Peter Gibbons (RNLI), Grace Hitter, May Hitter, Supt Tim Jenkins (RNMDSF), Ceri Lamb, Patrick Murray, Ian Prettyman, Maurice and Peggie Reeve, Bryan and Maureen Robinson, Brian Springer, Carol and Allan Turner, Malcolm and Shirley Upton, Terry and Audrey Upton.

Unavoidably absent were: Julie and Gary Bond, Cassie Bond, Cheryl Saunders, Steven Rice, Clive Jenner, Jade Saunders, Laura Benterman, Jordan Benterman, Hannah Springer, Robbie Springer, Claire Faichnie, Anna Faichnie, Callum Faichnie, Oxo Coleman, Tommy Knot, Michael Knot, Kitty Henighan and Doreen Glover.

The family of Mr Jack Saunders would like to thank all relatives, friends and neighbours for their kind words of sympathy, floral tributes and donations received.

Special thanks to carers at Blyford, staff on Ward 5 at James Paget Hospital, Rev Matthew Payne, Ian Prettyman and Graeme Franks and his team at Co-op Funeral Services.
