THE funeral service took place at a packed Gorleston Crematorium on August 14 for Leonard Arthur James Soanes, who died peacefully after a long illness at The Coach House, Hemsby on August 5, aged 74.

THE funeral service took place at a packed Gorleston Crematorium on August 14 for Leonard Arthur James Soanes, who died peacefully after a long illness at The Coach House, Hemsby on August 5, aged 74.

The Rev Robert Soanes officiated.

Mourners were: Michael and Janet Soanes (son and daughter-in-law), Andrew Soanes (grandson), Irene Gill (sister), Kathleen and Fraser Allington (sister and brother-in-law), George Soanes and Sonia (brother), Nancy and Peter Wooden (sister-in-law and brother-in-law), Sue and Richard Wooden (nephew), Steven and David Soanes (nephews), Richard and Anne Gill (nephew), Troy, Susan and Gayle (nieces and nephew), Ronnie and Beryl Capps, Anne and Mac McMurtry, Anne Durrant and family, Marlene and Peter Borrett, Jeff Bush, Brenda Boggis, June Boon, Doreen Smith, Mark Hansen, Tracey Dean, Wally and Wendy Sherwood and many other relatives, neighbours and friends too numerous to mention, including representatives of the Coach House Beef Club, Boulevard, Rookery Park Golf Club, Birds Eye and former Eastern Coach Works.

Unable to attend were: Marlene and Donald Culpepper, USA (sister and brother-in-law).

Floral tributes were: Rest in peace dad, you were a wonderful father and granddad, you will be sadly missed, we love you, Janet and Michael. In loving memory of a wonderful granddad, I will miss you so much granddad, rest in peace from your loving grandson Andrew.
