THE funeral took place at Gorleston Crematorium on December 13 , for Leslie Charles Frederick King of Lowestoft, who died peacefully, after a short illness on November 27, aged 93.

THE funeral took place at Gorleston Crematorium on December 13 , for Leslie Charles Frederick King of Lowestoft, who died peacefully, after a short illness on November 27, aged 93.

Father David Girling officiated.

The mourners were his wife of 69 years Dolly King, children Alan King, Patricia Vellacott, Janet and Brian Jillings, grandchildren Robert Jillings, Annie Jillings, great grandchildren Alex Allington, Becky Jillings, Matthew Jillings, William Jillings, brother Frank and Jean King, Lennie and Peggy Borthwick, Winnie Chilvers, Barry Chilvers, Roz Roberts, Colin and Elaine Vingoe, Anne and Mike Tope, Anne Scott, Steve Farrow, Trevor Shepherd, and Jan Burgess, Lynne Emery, Val Rutterford (carers from Stradbroke Court).

Unavoidably absent were: Leslie's sisters Maureen Harber, Norah George, Jean Grennery and Gloria Clarke also Molly and Bob Green and Brenda Boggis.

Floral tributes were: In loving memory of dear husband, happy memories, love from Dolly. In loving memory of a dear dad, granddad and great-granddad, all our love from Alan, Pat, Janet, Brian, Robert, Annie, Alex, Becky, Matthew, William, Dwayne and Luke. Brother, forever in our hearts, treasured memories of a loving brother from Jean, Frank and family. In loving memory of a dear brother, Leslie fondest memories, love from sisters Gloria and Maureen. With love from all the girls on Hickling Unit. With loving memories from all the residents and staff at Stradbroke Court.

Our family would like to give a very special thank you to the staff at Stradbroke Court, especially those on Hickling Unit, who took such great care of Leslie and treated him with such respect. We are sure they like us, will miss his cheeky smile and sense of humour.

We are also very grateful to everyone who has helped us through this sad time.
