THE funeral service took place at St Margaret's Church followed by the committal at Gorleston Crematorium on October 7 for Malcolm Reginald John Battrick of Oulton who died on September 27, aged 68.

THE funeral service took place at St Margaret's Church followed by the committal at Gorleston Crematorium on October 7 for Malcolm Reginald John Battrick of Oulton who died on September 27, aged 68.

The Reverend Canon John Simpson officiated.

Mourners were: Gill Battrick (wife), Bruce and Clare Battrick (son and daughter-in-law), Stewart and Anne-Marie Battrick (son and daughter-in-law), Emma, Sophie, Shaye, Sherrie, Jack and Shannon (grandchildren), Ivan Rampling (father-in-law), Judith and George Collins (sister and brother-in-law), Pat Piggott, Stephen and Elizabeth Balls, Kate and Andy Blake, Keith and Fay Hood, Mary Youngs, Gill Hood, Roger, David and Myfanwy Williamson, Gordon and Jackie Murkett, Martin, Linda, Amanda and Peter Murkett, Malcolm and Yvonne Cherry, Rosemary Pye, Jill and Paul Wright, Jayne, Charlotte, George, Grace and Arthur Papworth, Harry and Hilary Miller, Pauline and Keith Rowe, Margaret, Brian and Jonathan Harper, Jayne Smith, Jennifer and John Tucker, Ron and Audrey Spendlove, Tess and John Hardy, Tim Oxborough, Monica Catmull, Barry and Jeanette Hawkes, Beverley and Katie, John, Louise and Oliver Jordan-Hall, Richard and Donna Anderson, Monica Lilley, Ali and Chick Barber, Bruce and Denise Wayman.

Tributes were given by: Peter Jarvis, Lowestoft District Scouts; Haydn Farr, Waveney Valley Scouts.

Guard of honours into and from church by Lowestoft and Waveney Valley Scouts.

Many more friends and colleagues from various organisations were present including those from Lowestoft District and Waveney Valley District Scouts, Suffolk Scouts, Lowestoft Scout Fellowship, Lowestoft College, Probus, Ashley School, Guide Division, Oulton Community Council, St John's Ambulance, Somerleyton Estate, Lifeguard Corps, Lowestoft Country Market.

Unable to attend were: Molly Denham, Val and Brian Person, Janet Lawson, Mary and Robert Oxborough, Roger Youngs, Doug and Bridget Wright and Ben Wright.

The family of the late Mr Malcolm Battrick wish to thank all relatives and friends for their many kind expressions of sympathy, and donations received. Donations for JPUH NHS Foundation Trust (Sandra Chapman Unit), Lowestoft District Scouts or Waveney Valley District Scouts are still being accepted c/o R Rivett Ltd, 15 Carlton Road, Lowestoft, NR33 0RU.

Special thanks to doctors and nurses at Sandra Chapman Unit, James Paget Hospital, Dr Blosfeldt and nurses on ward 16, doctors at Oulton Community Medical Centre, The Scouts guard of honour, The Scout Fellowship (refreshments), Angela Nichols for the beautiful floral arrangements, to all who gave such tremendous support over the last six months, Rivett's Funeral Directors and Canon John Simpson for making the service so special.
