LYNN, David and Claire were overwhelmed by the sheer volume of people who attended the service of Paul Burgess who passed away on October 25 aged 53. The funeral service was held at Gorleston Crematorium on November 4 and officiated by Sheila Freeman a celebrant representing the British Humanist Association.

Immediate family mourners were Lynn (Wife), David (Son), Claire (Daughter), Mr George Burgess (Dad) and Mrs Myrtle Burgess, Mr and Mrs Roy Upstone (Brother and Sister-in-law) and Mrs Doris Durrant (Mum-in-law).

The number of mourners was in excess of 300 which was a tribute to Paul's popularity, his humour and his great courage and bravery when faced with his battle against cancer. If positivity could have saved him, he would be here with us today.

Heartfelt thanks to family and friends for your kindness, support and messages at this very difficult time.

Special thanks to Roy and Margo, Professor Tim Eisen, Dr Lucie Barker, all nurses and staff attached to Rosedale Surgery and the Essex & Suffolk Water Company.

Donations are still being received up until December 11 for the East Anglia Transport Museum to help with the upkeep of our local heritage and should be sent to Anglia Co-operative Funerals, Police Station Road, Lowestoft, Suffolk NR32 1NY.

Will all please accept this as the only, but most sincere, acknowledgment.
