THE funeral service took place at Kirkley Cemetery Chapel on Thursday, September 11, followed by the burial in the cemetery for Walter James Mitchell, of Lowestoft, who died on August 31, aged 91.

THE funeral service took place at Kirkley Cemetery Chapel on Thursday, September 11, followed by the burial in the cemetery for Walter James Mitchell, of Lowestoft, who died on August 31, aged 91.

The Rev Helen Jary officiated.

Mourners were: Mrs M Block, Ms A Taylor, Mr B Sandham, Mrs D Flatman, Mr S Flatman, Mrs A Taylor, Mr M Taylor, Miss L Flatman, Mr A Hull, Mrs M Hull, Miss T Hull, Mr D Peek, Mrs M Peek, Miss L Taylor, Mrs A Davies, Mr P Davies, Ms J Long, Ms D Broughton, Mrs S Claxton, Miss S Claxton. Unable to attend: Mrs L Bruton and Mrs S Hildick-Smith.

The family wishes to thank all relatives and friends for their kind expressions of sympathy and donations being accepted for Cancer Research UK, c/o Critoph & Crowe, 49-55 Lorne Park Road, Lowestoft, NR33 0RB. Thanks also to Staff at James Paget and Lowestoft Hospitals, Suffolk Care Services and the Red Cross for their care and support for Jim during his illness. Will all please accept this as the only but most sincere acknowledgment.
