THE funeral service took place at Gorleston Crematorium on Tuesday, May 20, for Mrs Dorothy Irene (Dolly) Ling, of Lowestoft, who died on May 8, aged 88 years.

Rev Peter Glanville officiated.

Mourners were: Irene Ling, Mary and Alf Ames, Dick and Ann Newrick, Stephen and Della Ames, Marie and Christopher Connellan, Lisa Connellan, Louise Connellan, Elizabeth Ames, William Ames, Audrey Coble, Doris and Raymond Young, Olive Warner, Beryl Clarke, Christine Rouse, Rita and Billy Shilling, Myra Borrett, Jean and Dennis Youngman, Vanessa Colborn, Marlene Jarvis, Jean and Brendan Smith, Rodney Scase and Mrs D Duffield (also representing Sound East).

Irene would like to thank all relatives and friends for their kind expressions of sympathy and donations received. Donations to Sound East, in aid of Lowestoft talking newspapers for the blind, are still being accepted, c/o Powell's (Funeral Directors Ltd).

Special thanks to staff at James Paget and Lowestoft Hospitals for the care given to Dorothy and for the truly comforting service given by Rev Peter Glanville.
