A SERVICE of thanksgiving for the life of Ethel May Newell, who died on April 9, aged 90, took place at Beresford Road Evangelical Church, followed by A burial at Gunton St Peter's Churchyard.

A SERVICE of thanksgiving for the life of Ethel May Newell, who died on April 9, aged 90, took place at Beresford Road Evangelical Church, followed by A burial at Gunton St Peter's Churchyard.

The service was led by Pastor Stephen Whitaker and Rob Clarke of Lowestoft Community Church gave a tribute.

Family mourners were: Richard and Francis Newell (son and daughter-in-law), Margaret and Graham Gooch (daughter and son-in-law), Sarah and Jason Bagshaw (granddaughter), Paul Newell (grandson), Helen and Edd Atkinson (granddaughter, Australia, who contributed a recorded gospel reading), Mr and Mrs C Cartlidge and James, Mr and Mrs M Dowe, Mr and Mrs D King, Mrs S Fisk and Ms C Fisk, Mr and Mrs P Larke, Mrs K Hoper, Mr S Larke, Mrs D Law, Mr D Howard, Mrs J Napthine and Mrs F Sumner.

Others attending included: Joan Gowing and Rob Clarke, Mr and Mrs V Stone, Mr and Mrs D Hansey, Mr and Mrs J Dilley, Mrs E Lincoln and Mrs J Bowles, Mr A Coleman, Mr P Rogers, Mr R Bagshaw, June King, Jane and Vyv Kestle (also representing The Dell Care Home), Mr and Mrs B Hartley, Mr and Mrs Russell Clarke, Mr and Mrs A Watling, Rosemary Kent, Daphne Knights, Neville Skinner, Valerie Chapman, Margaret Lewis along with many friends and representatives of Lowestoft Community Church, Beresford Road Evangelical Church, the Bethel Christian Fellowship and the Faith Mission.

The family of the late Mrs Newell would like to thank all relatives and friends for their help, support and kind messages of sympathy received. A floral tribute from the immediate family only was requested but donations to be shared equally between the British Heart Foundation and Ward 15 (Stroke Unit), James Paget Hospital are being accepted by Anglia Co-Operative Funerals, Police Station Road, Lowestoft NR32 1NY.
