THE funeral service took place at Gorleston Crematorium on Friday, September 11 for Edna Ruth Ward of Orford Drive, Lowestoft, who died on September 2, aged 88.

THE funeral service took place at Gorleston Crematorium on Friday, September 11 for Edna Ruth Ward of Orford Drive, Lowestoft, who died on September 2, aged 88.

The Rev Robert Soanes officiated.

Mourners were: Ronald Ward, Malcolm and Christine Ward, Neil and Jean Ward, Amy Smith, Leila Ward, Andrew McInnes, Norman Garrod, Simon Daniels, Betty and Jack Heryett, Ernie and Joan Burley, Jill Robertson, Joan Ayres, Sue Brockie, Monica Lilley (Mothers' Union), Mary Lewis (Mothers Union), Sandra and Raymond Merritt, Joyce Clarke, Sheila Hunter (Oulton Happy Circle Club) and Brian Hunter (Oulton Broad Labour Party).

Unable to attend were Mr and Mrs C Ward and Mr Henry Smith.

Floral Tributes: In loving memory, goodbye my darling, my sweetheart of 70 plus years. Till we meet again, your loving husband Ron. In loving memory, to a wonderful mum, with grateful thanks for all your years of love and care, Malcolm and Neil, Christine and Jean. In loving memory. To dearest Grandma, from your loving Granddaughters, Amy and Leila with fond memories of happy times. In loving memory of a dear sister-in-law, who we will remember with love and fond memories, from Colin and Esme. In loving memory, of a dear auntie, thank you Edna for helping me when I was ill and you looked after me through the good times and as well as through the bad times, may you rest in peace, Andrew.

The family wish to thank all relatives and friends for their kind expressions of sympathy, beautiful floral tributes and donations for East Anglia Air Ambulance which are still being accepted c/o Critoph & Crowe, 49-55 Lorne Park Road, Lowestoft NR33 0RB. Special thanks to the staff at Kensington House, Dr O'Driscoll, neighbours at Orford Drive, Rev Robert Soanes and Mr Eric Critoph.
