THE funeral service took place at Gorleston Crematorium on January 9 for Mrs Gladys Creina Mary Downes of Lowestoft who died on December 22 aged 82.

THE funeral service took place at Gorleston Crematorium on January 9 for Mrs Gladys Creina Mary Downes of Lowestoft who died on December 22 aged 82.

Canon John Simpson officiated.

Mourners were Miss Rosalind Downes (daughter), Mrs M Utting, Mr and Mrs J Grieve, Mr and Mrs R Friend, Mrs M Pickess, Mrs A Rigby, Mr S Grieve, Mr B Wylie, Mr T Wylie, Mrs E Knights, Miss Hazel Howe, Mr and Mrs M Wylie, Mr and Mrs R Reynolds, Mr and Mrs R Avery, Mr C Utting and Linda, Mrs L Harper, Mrs K Burwood, Mrs S Marriot, Mr and Mrs D Knights, Mrs B Banks, Mrs A Stockdale-Bond, Mr Philip Utting, Rachael Utting, Mr and Mrs M Flowerday, Miss Amanda Hume, Mr Michael Barnard.

Unavoidably absent were: Mrs E Holland, Mr D Holland, Mrs M Danette, Mr and Mrs D Hume, Mrs D Wylie, Mr K Pickess.

The family of the late Mrs Gladys Downes would like to thank all relatives and friends for their kind expressions of sympathy and beautiful floral tributes received. Special thanks to the carers from Anglia Home Care, staff at Lowestoft Hospital and all at Kensington House Nursing Home. Thanks also to Canon John Simpson for a caring service and the Ole Frank public house for providing the refreshments.
