THE funeral service took place on October 3 at Kirkley Cemetery for Hilda Hewlett, who died at Blyford Residential Home on September 21, aged 90.

Mourners were, Fred and Val Robinson (brother), Matthew Ingles (nephew), Jean Chapman (sister) and Jenny Swan (niece), Ben and Ann Youngman (nephew), Rita and David Kettless (niece), David and Mary Cunningham (nephew), Mel and Di Cunningham (nephew), Geoffrey Cunningham (nephew), Rosemary and David Garner, Hazel and Michael Lincoln, Dorothy Davidson, Joan Hall, Mrs Gwen Taylor, Richard and Dot Woolnough, Olive Coleman, Mrs Vera Lamb, Hilda Grimme, Pauline Adams, Rosemary Pye, Samantha Stagg, Marie Lee, David Secretay, Angie Bonnelly, Georgina Philips and Jeanette Westgate.

Unavoidably absent: Walter Herrington (brother).

Floral Tributes were: In loving memory of a dear sister, Hilda rest in peace lots of love Val and Fred. Dear sister, rest in peace, God bless Jean. To auntie Hilda, gone but not forgotten, Mark, Robert and Matthew. In loving memory of dear auntie Hilda, Rita, David and the children. Fondest memories of a dear auntie Hilda, Ben and Ann. In loving memory of dear auntie Hilda, David and Mary, Mel and Di, Geof and all their families. Always remembered dearest Hilda, rest in peace, love from your friends at Church Green.

Our thanks to Dot and the carers who attended Hilda at Church Green and also to the staff and carers at Blyford Residential Home. Special thanks to Val for the care and attention that she gave to Hilda in her latter years. To all family and friends who attended, Rev'd John Fairbairn for a lovely service and to Anglia Co-operative Funerals, Police Station Road, Lowestoft, Suffolk, NR32 1NY 01502 583637 who are still accepting donations for the Alzheimer's Society.
