THE committal service took place at Gorleston Crematorium on Friday, December 7 followed by a service of thanksgiving at South Lowestoft Methodist Church for Mrs Jessie Frances Cockin of London Road South, Lowestoft, who died on November 26 aged 92 years. The Rev Robert Soanes led both services. Family, friends and Girl Guides gathered to celebrate Jessie's life of caring and service which included 30 years in the Girl Guides culminating seven years as district commissioner for South Lowestoft.

The service commenced with the Girl Guide colours being brought in and ended with the singing of “May” and “Daylight Taps”. The church was vibrant with colourful flowers and attendees were asked to dress brightly to celebrate Jessie's life and her saving faith in God.

The floral tribute read: To Mum, thank you for your life of extraordinary enduring love and caring for others. We love you and rejoice in the knowledge that you will be filled with the joy of eternity in Gods presence. Your loving family and friends.

The family wish to thank all relatives and friends for the many kind expressions of sympathy. Donations are being accepted for Jessie's nominated charity. Break Charity c/o Critoph & Crowe 49-55 Lorne Park Road, Lowestoft.

Special thanks to all at South Lowestoft Methodist Church who provided such a wonderful service, the many family and friends that came from near and far, and those that held Jessie in their thoughts.

Funeral arrangements were by Critoph & Crowe.
