THE funeral service of Myrtle Evelyn Beane, who passed away peacefully in her sleep on October 26, aged 98, took place at St. Bartholomew's Church, Corton, on Friday, November 7 She was a long-time resident of Corton, having moved to the village in 1935.

THE funeral service of Myrtle Evelyn Beane, who passed away peacefully in her sleep on October 26, aged 98, took place at St. Bartholomew's Church, Corton, on Friday, November 7 She was a long-time resident of Corton, having moved to the village in 1935. Myrtle was very active in the community, being a founder member of the WI and in the Mothers' Union, Young Wives, The Happy Circle and sang in Corton Church choir into her late 80s. She was much loved and respected, as was shown by the large number of friends who attended.

Joan Baxter, T Reeves, S Reeves, Wendy and Alan Rodgers, Margaret Simmonite, Jean Alexander, Kitty Ross, Beryl Mitchell, Tony Mitchell, Tania Bunn, Gordon Bunn, Mary O'Dywer, Steve Tennant, Sue Tennant, Mary Taylor, Fred Taylor, Mike Edwards, Mr and Mrs R Wright, Mr and Mrs D Butcher, Dr and Mrs S J Cooper, Mrs J Kirkham, Michael Soanes, Ann Carroll, Bill Ewen, Leon and Elizabeth Crosson, Simon Tyrrell, Matty Porter, Michael Tiffin (Tiff), Paul and Karyn Mills, Kate Maxwell, Emma Bromley, A Inkpen, Roy Woolston, Mr and Mrs Barker, Patrick and Susan Prendergast, Paul and Joan Weaving, O Culsear, Joyce Foden, Brenda Freelove, and many others also attended the service too many to mention by name.
