A new dementia café will be launched at a popular care home next week.

It will be launched at Oulton Park Care Centre on Thursday, November 9 from 2pm to 4pm.

The Barchester Healthcare home, in Union Lane, Oulton, has partnered with the Lowestoft Remember Me Club for the event, which will be held on the second Thursday of each month at 2pm.

Activities assistant Andrea Pullinger said: 'We know there are lots of people caring for people with dementia in the community and approached the Remember Me Club to see if together we could provide a service to the carers and families where they could come and meet others in the same situation. 'Pauline, from the Remember Me Club, will be on hand to offer support and advice.

'We hope that the events will be well attended and there will be refreshments available on the days.'
