A new community-based store is keen to build on the ever-growing demand to play table top games in Lowestoft.
Boundless Realms has opened its doors to fanatics of all ages who are all keen to enjoy a range of card and board games, including Warhammer 40K, Pokémon Trading Card Game and Magic: The Gathering.
The store, opposite McDonald's in London Road North, held an official launch event on Saturday, May 7 – which was attended by scores of keen enthusiasts.
Along with demonstrations on how to play a number of table top games, people gathered to chat about their favourite creations and characters.
People can drop into the store at any time, between 11am and 11pm every day, to play any games they wish – including classic board games such as Monopoly.
Inside the venue, games and merchandise are available for purchase.
There is also another store in Gorleston, which has been open for three years.
Aaron Esherwood, 31, of Gorleston, is the owner and manager of the store along with Richard Mehmed and Rachael Croft.
They were all keen to open a new store in the town due to the 'massive demand' for playing table top games.
'A lot of people in the Lowestoft area are compete and utter nuts for table top gaming and war gaming. They have been waiting a long time for this,' Mr Esherwood said.
'It has been incredibly enjoyable so far - absolutely awesome in fact.
'There is a massive demand in Lowestoft as a lot of people regularly travelled to our other store from here. It was the next logical step to open in the town.
'People can just walk in and say hello. If there is a table free, then they can use it.'
The team at the store is also keen to introduce gaming tournaments and encourage people from other parts of the country to come and take part.
'We want to put Lowestoft on the map when it comes to gaming,' said Mr Esherwood, a gamer of 23 years.
'I am ecstatic that so many people are getting behind us.
'There is a big demand for playing the games going forward.'
During the open event, visitors even donned costumes including Barry Chapman, who dressed as a Templar.
