PLANS to 'modernise and expand' a popular holiday resort with a 'multi million pound investment' have been announced this week.
Pontin's are intending to submit a planning application to Waveney District Council later this year as they look to develop improved facilities and new, self-catering accommodation on the existing holiday centre at Pakefield.
If approved, there would be a potential to 'create local jobs,' according to a spokesman for the holiday company as Pontin's also look to build on 60 acres of land to the south, which has already had a previous use allocation for leisure development under a former owner.
These latest plans come just days after the company revealed that the nearby Pontin's site at Hemsby would be closing.
